On December 6th 2006, VJ Pomante (one of our Alumni from the 2002 WFSI west trip to the central Rockies) was killed when an improvised explosive device (I.E.D.) detonated near his vehicle in Ar Ramadi, Iraq.

VJ was an Army Specialist assigned to Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division in Giessen, Germany.
